Hair isn't so important

So Let me tell you about my New Year's Day. It started in the hospital with my youngest, age 4, getting a bone marrow biopsy. He was severely anemic and blood tests showed one of his white blood cell types was non-existent. Around noon we had a diagnosis: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
His prognosis is good, and though the first month was rough, they did get him into remission. Now he has 6-9 months of consolidation Chemotherapy. Then he'll continue with maintenance chemo for 2-3 years. A.L.L has a high survival rate and as my cherub boy has responded so well to treatments so far, they expect him to make a full recovery. That being said, it will be a long journey for him and our family, so hair posts may be sparse, as they are not so important to me and my girls. On good days, however, we plan on really celebrating with fun hair:) Actually, I'll need to check my previous posts to see if I have a tutorial for doing the "dreamweaver Heart" braid (on my button)
If you would like to follow my son's story, you can find it on facebook by searching for "Adam's Hope" or link there directly from the blog, being managed by my Angel girl at http://hopeforadam.blogspot.com/  Please remember that she is writing her real feelings about everything our family is going through. I hope you and all your families had a safe and healthy new year.
much love,
Dreamweaver mama

  2. oh how scary!!! Have you looked into any other types of treatment? Chemo is sooo hard on a body!! :( Your family has a hard road ahead - but I'm sure you can do it!!! Stay as positive as you can!!
