spooky do spider web

First off, let me just say how fun this spider-web was to do. I drew it out first (as always) then used Angel's long locks to let it all come together perfectly:

Okay, now that you've seen the end product, let me show you how to get started:
The braid you will be doing I call the spiral braid. Start by pulling most of the hair out of the way, leaving a section all the way around just wide enough for a dutch braid:

I started at the middle of her neck, and braided up and around. When I had no more hair left to braid, I clipped off the braided end and sectioned another loop to braid. I unclipped that braid and continued up and around. I did this about 3 and a half times to get this:

At this point, you are going to want to take your leftover braid, and fold it up inside itself like a rose or cinnamon roll. Other wise, it won't fit properly here:

Secure with a few bobby pins in your "flat" bun and then get ready for some intense ribbon-wrapping!

I used a  thick black ribbon (about 3 yards) and started wrapping (with my SAFE plastic needle of course) exactly where I had begun the braid. This way, when every braid around her head (all 3) had been wrapped, the extra black ribbon was conveniently where I could weave it in and out of that bun part in the middle!

Now for the pipe cleaners:
I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but I started with about 1/2inch or so of pipe cleaner, poked it through the bottom braid, and twisted it like crazy so it would stay attatched there. Then i brought it up, poked it through the next braid, and so on, so that it would stay secured. I did this with each pipe cleaner all the way around her head:

I then Twisted them all together, layed them down and tied the  extra ribbon around/over them to cover them up and give the web a "center"

Voila! a Spider Web.
